Back in 2008 I decided I would like a Child's Play pin that I could put on bags, hats, lapels, etc to show my support. The organizers like to make sure that as much of the money they get in as possible goes directly to the hospitals. I didn't think it was likely they would produce a pin using CP funds, so I decided to have my own made. A friend of mine took the art that they had on their activism page and tweaked it. I sent it off to a pin company and a month later had some very fine pins. Since I was going through the trouble I had extras made that I could give out to fellow PAX enforcers and others who would like one.
I have these made, usually doing an order a year and distribute them at the various PAXen mostly. If you want one, your best bet is probably to come by the PAX Info booth. I am often there, or have left pins there, or if not they will likely be able to track me down. Alternately feel free to email me at oak@pobox.com and we can coordinate how to get one to you.
How can you help?
Donate to Child's Play using the paypal link on their site (http://childsplaycharity.org), one of their hospitals Amazon wish lists, or via one of many fundraising events that fans create throughout the year. It could be $1, it could be $100.
DISCLAIMER: I don't work for Child's Play, I don't work for Penny Arcade, I don't hand make these items, and I can't guarantee their quality. I will however do my best to make sure you get a replacement if you get one that is somehow defective.
